About Redkite Redkite supports children and young people with cancer, and their families through the difficult cancer journey by providing essential financial assistance, support in hospitals through social workers and music therapists, education assistance, community based support including email and telephone counselling, and bereavement support and special family days. Currently there are around 5000 families affected by childhood and adolescent cancer in Australia. Redkite’s focus on real grass-roots support eases the pressure for families by providing practical help every step of the way, from the moment a child or young person is diagnosed, throughout treatment and when they return home to their community. A cancer diagnosis has a devastating effect on the whole family; household bills continue at the very time household income drops dramatically, there’s a relentless cycle of hospital visits and the emotional strain of holding a family together is very real. Redkite’s practical services are available to families whenever they need it, wherever they live in Australia. Redkite receives no government funding so relies entirely on community support to provide its vital services. Redkite is grateful for your support.
