Sea 2 Summit Challenge Event Details Sea 2 Summit Challenge is not a race — it is a team event. The aim of the Sea 2 Summit Challenge is to get as many riders as possible to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko. This is no mean feat as it involves 248km of riding plus 5,500m of climbing. The weather can also be the biggest challenge. Sea 2 Summit Challenge is a team event, with teams graded according to ability. So although this is a long and difficult ride and you will need to do a lot of training, riders shouldn’t be concerned about riding with elite athletes; Sea 2 Summit Challenge attracts a wide range of abilities. The event starts in Merimbula at sunrise on Saturday morning and ends in Charlottes Pass on Saturday evening. Riders and volunteers will normally be required to meet in Jindabyne on Friday and travel together to the coast. On Sunday, riders and crew normally arrive back to their cars in Jindabyne in the early afternoon. The route takes riders through some of the most stunning landscapes in south-east Australia — click here for the route map and description. Sea 2 Summit Challenge requires a reasonably substantial time commitment from riders and volunteers and it’s worth every minute. Most people come away from Sea 2 Summit Challenge having had a “life-changing” or “life-enhancing experience”. The Sea 2 Summit Challenge is not just about reaching a personal milestone, but is also about helping Redkite support children, young people and their families through the cancer journey. As this is a charity event, each entrant is asked to commit to raising a minimum of $2,000 in support of Redkite – of course, don’t stop at $2,000 as all donations are greatly appreciated. Fundraising can be its own challenge but its own reward and Redkite offers support with fundraising ideas, tools and online fundraising techniques to help you reach your goal. Where to from here? If you’re interested in taking part, send an email to info@s2schallenge.com.au.
